GE Ultrasound Feature
EchoPAC Suite
WorkflowEchoPAC is GE's workstation software for off-cart echocardiography analysis. After completing a scan on any Vivid-series system, the full DICOM dataset transfers to EchoPAC where physicians and sonographers perform advanced post-processing: 2D speckle tracking strain, 3D/4D volumetric quantification, valve analysis, stress echo comparison, and Auto EF review. EchoPAC integrates with PACS, EMR, and ViewPoint reporting systems, creating a continuous data pipeline from acquisition through final report. Remote network access lets cardiologists review studies from any connected workstation in the facility.

Key Benefits
Why EchoPAC Suite matters
Recover scanner time for 2–4 additional daily exams
Moving post-processing to EchoPAC frees the ultrasound cart immediately after acquisition. In a 20-echo-per-day lab, reclaiming 15–30 minutes of analysis time per study translates directly into additional scan slots and increased daily throughput.
AI-powered quantification tools on a dedicated workstation
EchoPAC includes Auto EF review, AI Auto Measure 2D, and AFI strain analysis. Physicians perform these advanced measurements on their own schedule without a patient on the table or a sonographer waiting, improving both measurement quality and lab workflow.
Review studies from any network-connected workstation
EchoPAC runs on standard PCs across the hospital network. Cardiologists review and measure studies from their office, the reading room, or a satellite clinic location without returning to the echo lab.
Structured reporting with PACS and EMR integration
EchoPAC connects to ViewPoint 6 for structured echo reporting and archives directly to PACS. Measurements flow into the report template automatically, eliminating manual data entry and reducing report turnaround time.
About EchoPAC Suite
In a busy echo lab, the ultrasound cart is the bottleneck. Every minute spent performing post-processing on the system is a minute it cannot scan the next patient. EchoPAC breaks this constraint by moving advanced analysis to a dedicated workstation. After acquisition, the raw data transfers to EchoPAC where a physician can perform detailed strain analysis using 2D speckle tracking, calculate LV and RV volumes from 3D datasets, assess mitral and aortic valve geometry with 4D rendering tools, and compare rest and stress images side by side. EchoPAC includes AI-powered measurement tools such as Auto EF review and editing, AI Auto Measure 2D for automated chamber quantification, and AFI strain overlay for global longitudinal strain assessment. The workstation also supports multi-vendor image import, allowing labs with mixed equipment to consolidate post-processing on a single platform. Integration with ViewPoint 6 reporting generates structured echo reports that flow directly into PACS and EMR systems without manual transcription. For labs performing 20 or more echos per day, moving post-processing off-cart can recover 15 to 30 minutes of scanner availability per study, potentially enabling 2 to 4 additional exams daily.
