GE IC9B-RS

The IC9B-RS delivers one of the widest endocavitary bandwidths in the GE lineup at 2.9–9.7 MHz, paired with an expansive 185-degree field of view for complete pelvic visualization. Designed for the Voluson platform, it supports transvaginal OB/GYN workflows including follicle tracking, early pregnancy assessment, and gynecologic pathology evaluation. The extended frequency range resolves fine endometrial detail at the high end while maintaining penetration to the posterior cul-de-sac at the low end.

Clinical Applications

Applications

Transvaginal OB/GYN

On the Voluson platform, the IC9B-RS is optimized for first-trimester dating, nuchal translucency measurements, and detailed early anatomic surveys. The 185-degree field of view captures both adnexa and the uterine fundus in a single sweep. High-frequency operation at 9.7 MHz resolves endometrial layers, polyps, and sub-centimeter follicles during IVF monitoring cycles.

Reproductive Medicine

The IC9B-RS supports fertility workups with the resolution needed for antral follicle counting, endometrial thickness measurement, and tubal patency assessment with contrast. Its wide bandwidth adapts from near-field follicle imaging to deeper views of ovarian stroma and parovarian structures without probe changes.

Gynecologic Pathology

For fibroids, endometriomas, and adnexal masses, the probe's 2.9 MHz low end provides the penetration to characterize deep lesions, while color and PW Doppler map feeding vessels for IOTA scoring. The 185-degree sector angle reduces the need for probe repositioning during complex pelvic surveys.
