GE 9L-RS

The 9L-RS is a workhorse linear transducer built for the broadest RS-Pin system compatibility in GE's lineup. The 4.0 – 10.0 MHz bandwidth provides the resolution needed for carotid intima-media assessment and thyroid nodule characterization at the high end, with enough penetration at 2 MHz for deeper peripheral vascular work. Its compact footprint and light weight make it practical for high-volume clinics scanning vascular, MSK, and small parts cases throughout the day.

Clinical Applications

Applications

Vascular Imaging

Carotid duplex scanning with B-mode plaque visualization and spectral Doppler waveform analysis for stroke risk stratification. The 2 MHz floor provides adequate penetration for common femoral and popliteal artery assessment. Color Doppler mapping identifies flow disturbances in venous insufficiency studies and DVT screening protocols.

Small Parts & Thyroid Imaging

High-frequency imaging at 8–10 MHz resolves thyroid nodules, submandibular gland lesions, and superficial lymph nodes for characterization and biopsy guidance. The linear geometry provides consistent depth calibration for measurement accuracy. Compatible with elastography on supported systems for nodule stiffness assessment.

Musculoskeletal Imaging

Dynamic assessment of rotator cuff tendons, Achilles tendon pathology, and joint effusions benefits from the 10 MHz near-field resolution. The compact probe head fits the contours of the shoulder, elbow, and ankle for diagnostic and injection-guidance applications. Color Doppler detects neovascularity associated with tendinopathy and inflammatory arthropathy.
